Patient Info Demographics/Dx: Female, 4 y 9 mo, with intoed gait due to long bone torsional/rotational malalignments; foot pronation; fully ambulatory. Increased medial femoral torsion (L) Excessive medial thigh/foot angle (R) Foot pronation (L), (R) Tensor fascia lata shortened Ligament laxity at (L) knee, both midtarsal joints Eval tools used: N/A
TheraTogs Uses Wearing history: 6 months @ all day for 7 days/week with 100% compliance After 6 months, strap use on (R) was reduced to 4 days/week. Strapping used: 3 straight straps, 2 limb cuffs Improvements noted: Reduced intoeing per visual observation Close correlation between TheraTogs wear, clinical observation, and normalization of findings on LE Musculoskeletal Assessment Form. (R) medial thigh-foot angle (TFA) has resolved. (L) TFA has improved 9° (L) Ryder's Test results for femoral torsion has improved 4°
Clinical issues noted: None. Patient "loves wearing her TheraTogs" according to mother's report. Product notes: Need better durability in the (straight) strapping material. Parents have sewn one end of each strap to each limb cuff and to the thigh cuff on the (L) side.
