The Very Basics
1. FIT THE GARMENTS
Welcome to the Very Basics page. In the TheraTogs systems, the very basics start with....fit the garments first. You have to provide a foundation that allows the grip and tension of the system to be used adequately. Start with the garments first!
Hipster Donning tips:
- Start with the hipster, making sure that the 'waist band' is above the belly button (by a good inch)
- Low rider hipsters do not provide adequate support around the hips and the greater trochanter area
- Have gaps in the cut out on the back of the hipster? Take a pinch...of the material in the back of the hipster and tab it over
- Questions, send an email to Clinical Support, support@theratogs.com
Tank Top Donning tips:
With the correct position of the hipster, you are now set up for success when you have to don the tank top! Nice overlap in the correct place
If you are having to pull the tank top shoulder attachments down towards the back, cut them shorter so that the tabs are just posterior (on the back) at the shoulder
More than 2 inches of material overlap at the waist or higher is too cubersome, reduces the grip and friction of the system. Trim them down!
Remember...trim to customize to the child's shape and needs. That is why TheraTogs uses a technical textile, it does not unravel or fray when you cut the garments
